Do you have any pics/info on the rack itself? I may be looking for a similar setup at some point in the future.

I don’t have much info I’m affraid. They’re not even marked with a manufacturer name. I see them on eBay all the time for fucking rediculous prices. I’d keep your eyes on Craigslist. I got mine for $20. Easy and intuitive to install, but many of them I’ve seen for sale don’t include the turnbuckle that goes between the bottom of the bracket and the bottom of the bumper. It’s kind of hard to explain, but I can take a picture when I get home. My set didn’t include them either, but I found them at Lowes for a few bucks a piece. Here is a better view of them installed.

Thanks. It’s a work in progress. Someone really neglected it before I picked it up. Needs a complete rewire, new cables, new chain, new belt, new bulbs and a bunch of other crap.

That’d be very appreciated, thanks! I found a couple pictures on GIS, but no side-shots of complete ones. Is there anything protecting the bumper from scratches?

Yes, there is rubber padding on both surfaces that touch the bumper.

My Dad picked up one off CL for his CT90s - but it has a beam across the middle between the hoops.. He uses a ramp on one side and can wheel it up and into the spot.

Get it for free?

Usually mopeds either come in “hasn’t been ridden for 20 years and was stored in the backyard shed” varieties which just need a carb cleaning and the gas tank de-rusted - or “beat to shit by 15 year olds who thought it was a dirt bike and considered themselve mechanics” - sometimes the 15 year olds are 25 or so though.

It was nearly free, though if you talk to my wife, it was completely free :)

Oh hey, I’d be using it for my CT70! Was his still a bumper mount?

What do you want to know?

This one is a 1976 French made Motobecane Mobylette. It’s a 50cc, 2 stroke engine with a variator (like an early version of todays CVTs). It needs a good bit of work before it’s usable.

I also have a 1973 Italian made Garelli Eureka. Also 50cc, single speed transmission, though plans for that one include a 70cc upgrade, bigger carb and performance exhaust in hopes that I can ride it to work sometimes.

Here’s the top. All the holes are slightly offset, so there is a lot of adjustment room with regards to the width of your bumper.

And here’s the underside with the turnbuckle.

Nice. I used to have a ‘84 Yamaha Qt-50 no ped. It was small, and strange and nearly killed me once due to a mechanical failure...and I really miss it.
